20th-22th - Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival - The event attracts around 40 top cartoonists and caricaturists from the UK and abroad and offers a unique opportunity to see their creative flair in action and buy some of their work.

19th - The Shropshire County Horse Show - Dressage, Hunter classes and Livery yard competition

26th - The Shropshire County Show - A two day agricultural show, with a fantastic range of entertainments for all the family

16th - Shrewsbury Carnival - All day entertainment in The Quarry from 10.30am - 5.00pm.

17th - RAF Cosford Air Show - One of the country's top aviation events offering a day of wonder, excitement and entertainment.

24th - Shrewsbury Dragon Boat Race - Takes place on the river Severn at Pengwern Boat Club in Shrewsbury and features teams of 20 people racing against each other in 40 foot long Dragon Boats. The event is an important fundraising event for Severn Hospice

8th-15th - Wenlock Olympian Games - The first ever Modern Olympian Games, the brainchild of Dr Brookes, were held in Much Wenlock in 1850. There is little doubt that the games inspired people all over Europe and contributed to the re-birth of the modern Olympic Games in 1896. Today they attract athletes from all over the country.

10th-11th - Shrewsbury Flower Show - The world's longest running horticultural show

24th-27th - Shrewsbury Folk Festival - Considered to be one of the premier events in Shropshire it offers musical and cultural diversity, a fun packed four days and a family holiday with something for everyone

7th-9th - Shrewsbury Street Festival - A fun family festival celebrating all manor of street performance with four stages hosting shows around the town..

6th-9th - Heritage Open Days - A festival celebrating English architecture and culture offering the opportunity to see many buildings of historical significance that would not normaly be open to the public. Many English Heritage and National Trust properties take part in the event and to our knowledge, entry to all events and activities is free of charge.
